in love with homemade baby food

I had the day off work today.  It was technically a snow day.  There was no snow.  There was no ice.  It even warmed up and was sunny.  But, who am I to argue with the district.  So, I decided to ignore any cleaning that needed to be done and just make baby food for my baby. Cody went off to a coffee shop and Owen laid down for a nap and I went to work chopping, boiling, and blending (which is like meditation for me).

My friend, Mary, and I made our first few batches together and then split the outcome.  But, this time we just couldn't get our schedules together, so I was on my own.  I found five recipes from Baby Love.  Here is what I came out with:
1) Cinnamon Apple Raisin with Oatmeal Cereal
2) Apples and Prunes
3) Apricots and Peaches with Oatmeal Cereal
4)  Pureed Carrots (not pictured)

Our freezer is busting now with ice cube trays.  Each dish filled up 2-3 trays.  Depending on how much Owen eats, we should be stocked for awhile.

Owen watched me make the last couple of batches and then was extremely hungry.  So, we sat down and ate a bowlful filled with a serving of each. And then we ate another bowlful. He hasn't eaten that great in a long time.  It might have just been me, but I swear he was saying, "Mmm.." after every bite.
